Material Handler

Position Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for movement of WIP and raw materials around the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Transfer production material to and from workstations in a manner to insure uninterrupted efficient operations.
  • Communicate with Scheduling Manager and/or Shipping/Receiving to coordinate efficient movement of material.
  • Monitor work stations to ensure sufficient material needs in a timely manner.
  • Assist in arranging material at workstations in a manner creating the most efficient working environment.
  • Label and identify skids and containers by weight and Company ID.
  • Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Detect and report defective materials and faulty operations to management.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities as outlined in the company’s Employee Handbook.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and safety rules.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed by supervisor.
  • Perform all responsibilities in a manner that is time efficient and safe while continually striving to suggest or create improvements to better achieve this goal.
  • Scan for hours worked.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three or more years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the manufacturing process.
